MIAMI - Travel guide to 540 sights of the city

With this travel guide, I want to introduce you to the history of the city and its historic buildings, and show you other alternatives to restaurants, nightclubs and hotels.

I want to show you to the most important sights of Miami. Miami isn’t only the Party City of the United States and a destination for millions of visitors who want to enjoy the white beaches and an endless summer. Besides hundreds of nightclubs, discotheques, restaurants and hotels, this city has dozens of other sights to explore.

This book differs from any other, usual travel guide. You will not find tips were to get a cheap or expensive meal, what’s the best hotel to stay, or what are the most important nightclubs in the city? This, I want to leave for your personal taste.

To give you an idea of what you can expect in Miami, I have put together this travel guide. It describes more than 540 different attractions and points of interest in the city, such as monuments, landmarks, museums, parks, cultural institutions and other tourist attractions. Each ‘point of interest’ includes the full address, GPS position, local transit connections, Internet address (if available) and a detailed description.

About 35 area maps and local transit schedules will help you, to find your way through the city. By clicking onto the GPS position, it will take you to ‘Google Maps’, where the attraction is displayed on the map. By clicking the ‘Local transit’ link, or the bus route number, you will be taken to the timetables of the transportation services. Clicking the web addresses, you can obtain more comprehensive information about the sights on the relevant websites. Each ‘point of interest’, described here, has a number between brackets (000). This helps you to find these ‘point of interest’ on the area map.

I’ve tried to describe as many highlights as possible, here in this book, without boring you. For this reason, I have published the most comprehensive travel guide to Miami here. Many ‘points of interest’, described in this book, have been mentioned, for the first time, in a travel guide, and have almost only known by locals. Even after more than fifteen years, living here in South Florida, there are still many interesting places, worth to discover.

Of course, Miami has to show much more, as I can tell in this book. I’ve tried to describe the best-known and most important highlights of this fantastic city.
